Change in Direction

Change in Direction (12-to-16 yrs)

Agility Program Description

Our agility program is meticulously designed to enhance change of direction mechanics and reactivity, catering to athletes seeking to improve their performance in various sports. The program is grounded in the principles of biomechanics and sports science, ensuring both efficiency and safety.

Program Focus:

  • Change of Direction Mechanics: The program emphasizes both small and large angular changes. Small angular changes focus on tendon reactivity and quick, short contacts, while large angular changes emphasize strength and hip-level adjustments.

  • Reactivity: Athletes are trained to improve their response times and adaptability to dynamic environments, crucial for high-level sports performance.

Methodology:

  • Small Angular Changes: These exercises target quick directional shifts, enhancing tendon reactivity and promoting rapid, short contact movements. This aspect of the program is vital for sports requiring swift, agile movements.

  • Large Angular Changes: These exercises focus on strength and hip-level changes, essential for significant directional shifts. This training helps in developing the power and stability needed for sports with substantial physical demands.

Design and Development: The movements incorporated in the program are carefully crafted to maximize efficiency and minimize injury risk. This program is developed through extensive study, analysis, and successful facilitation of training programs tailored for adolescent athletes in football, soccer, basketball, tennis, and badminton.

Key Benefits:

  • Enhanced change of direction ability

  • Improved reactivity and response times

  • Increased efficiency in movement

  • Reduced risk of injury

This comprehensive approach ensures that athletes can achieve peak performance while maintaining optimal health and safety.
